Eskişehir Governor Mehmet Kılıçlar said technical work was underway to determine the cause of the blast in the one-storey shop, which partly collapsed with the impact. Two of the injured were in critical condition, Anatolia said.
Rescuers began removing wreckage from the site in case there were bodies underneath.
Television footage shortly after the blast showed flames billowing out of the shop, located on one of the busiest streets in the city, with twisted pieces of wreckage strewn out in front of it.
The explosion also blew out the windows of multi-storey buildings -- mostly residential -- around the shop, reports said.
