Erdoğan attends fabulous wedding ceremony at Istanbul’s Çırağan Palace
ISTANBUL
Yelda Demirören, the daughter of Demirören Group chair Yıldırım Demirören, and Haluk Kalyoncu, the son of late businessman Hasan Kalyoncu, got married on April 13 in a massive ceremony at Istanbul’s Çırağan Palace with the attendance of about 2,000 guests.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan were wedding witnesses during the ceremony, while outgoing Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mevlüt Uysal performed the marriage.
The bride’s dress and the groom’s suit were respectively designed by Turkey’s most renowned designers Yıldırım Mayruk and Muzaffer Çaha.
The newlyweds had engaged in November last year during a ceremony attended by Erdoğan and the first lady.
The wedding on April 13 was attended by many statesmen and prominent names from the sports and media world, including Vice President Fuat Oktay, Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Industry and Trade Minister Mustafa Varank, Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Cahit Turhan, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, Family, Labor and Social Sciences Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez, Presidency of Strategy and Budget head Naci Ağbal, National Intelligence Organization (MİT) head Hakan Fidan, former Parliament Speaker and Istanbul mayoral candidate Binali Yıldırım and UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
