Environmentalist pilot reports polluting vessel in Turkey’s Marmara Sea

A commercial airplane pilot has reported a vessel polluting the Marmara Sea while descending towards Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport, air traffic control (ATC) conversations have shown.The environmentally sensitive pilot noticed a vessel bilging on the Gemlik Gulf near Istanbul while descending toward Atatürk Airport, and did not hesitate to inform the control tower about the problem.
The ATC conversations between the pilot and the air traffic controller also show that the tower paid attention to the pilot’s report, saying they would inform the related authorities about the issues.
“I want to report a bilging,” the pilot is heard saying in the ATC conversations.
