Istanbul is today starting to host two prominent fairs in parallel, bringing together automotive aftermarket and energy sector representatives in Automechanika Istanbul and Petroleum Istanbul fairs, respectively. As in previous years, the Petroleum Istanbul Fair will be organized on the same dates and at the same location as the Automechanika Istanbul Fair. This year’s fairs will be opened as of today and can be visited until April 14 at TÜYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center.
One of the fairs opening is Automechanika Istanbul, the world’s biggest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. The fair will bring the major players in the Turkish and European automotive manufacturing, distribution and repair industries together, aiming to provide opportunities for small and middle enterprises (SMEs) to step up in the market.
“The share of sub-industries among Turkey’s whole exports reached 44.7 percent in the first two months of this year,” said Hayri Kaya, representative of Turkey’s Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers.
The other fair to be held at the same venue is Petroleum Istanbul, or the 11th International Petroleum, LPG, Lubricants Equipment and Technologies Trade Fair. This trade fair is the largest of its industry as well, as Turkey is the fastest-growing and developing fuel and LPG market of its region, thanks to its growth rate, location and market structure.
