Earthquake hits southeast Russia

An earthquake of 6.9 magnitude hit southeastern Russia near the border with Mongolia on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. 

The epicenter of the quake was 45 km. deep and was about 92 km. northeast of Kyzyl, Russia, USGS said.
