DJ RAKYO takes the stage at Kiki Ortaköy

The legendary Spanish DJ Rayko will play that funky music tonight at the luxurious Kiki Ortaköy nightclub, spinning disco and funk until dawn. A leader in the disco edits scene since 2008, the year he launched Rare Wiri Records, his label has released the work of acclaimed producers like Beat Fanatic and Phoreski, and Reyko himself has worked with dozens of record labels such as Eskimo, Is It Balearic? and Nang.

Deeply rooted in ‘70s and ‘80s disco, funk, boogie and rock, Rayko’s influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern-day dancefloor bombs. His innovative edit of Candi Staton’s “Broadway” topped dance music retailer Juno’s best of 2011 disco chart, securing his spot at the crest of the disco edit wave. But his talents don’t stop there. He’s delved into original productions and remixes, lending his skilled hand to tracks by Psychemagik, Space Ranger and Ilya Santana to name but a few.
