Turkish Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz (L) discuss ways to boost defense ties with his Pakistani counterpart.Turkish Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz met with his Pakistani counterpart Navid Kamar and force commanders in Islamabad yesterday. Yılmaz congratulated Kamar for having been appointed as the Pakistani Defense Minister June 4 and discussed ways to boost relations in the defense sector.
Speaking in Islamabad, Yılmaz said that Turkey’s military and defense relations with Pakistan were excellent. “The friendly relations between the two countries do not get affected negatively by changes in leadership and continue to develop,” Yılmaz said. “We are here in Pakistan to boost our military and defense relations,” he said.
As part of his talks in Pakistan, Yılmaz was scheduled to meet the Chief of Pakistani General Staff Gen.
Khalid Samim Wayne late yesterday. He is expected to visit military facilities and meet Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani today. Turkish Airlines Chief Executive Temel Kotil was also scheduled to meet with Kamar and national flag carrier PIA’s Chaiman Rao Kamar Suleiman.
