Credit card spending rises

In the first nine months of the year credit card spending grew 35 percent from the same period of 2007 to YTL 136.8 billion, while the number of transactions grew 20 percent, the newspaper said. A week-long public holiday in late September and early October may have helped boost spending, Hürriyet said.
