The U.S.-based Cheesecake Factory, known for its delicious but larger than life portion sizes, is considering entering the Turkish market and is in the process of scoping out venues in Turkey’s shopping centers while concurrently consulting with their managements, according to daily Milliyet.According to the source, the Cheesecake Factory will not rent out its franchise but rather run the Turkish operations themselves.
In addition to the Cheesecake Factory, Pennsylvania-based retailer American Eagle Outfitters is also considering coming to Turkey.
The Cheesecake Factory and American Eagle Outfitters have been around since 1978 and 1977 respectively. The Cheesecake Factory, with over 170 locations, offers customers more than 40 varieties of cheesecake.
American Eagle Outfitters opened its first store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently offers items on its website with a lira price tag for export to Turkey. The affordable retail brand is particularly popular among the youth segment, according to Milliyet.
