CHP accuses government of being blind to weapons transfer on Syria border

The driver of a vehicle full of weaponry caught near the Syrian border has admitted to carrying similar cargo to and from the Turkish town of Reyhanlı, main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has claimed.Kılıçdaroğlu repeated accusations that the government was allowing the transfer of weapons to the Syrian opposition, saying the driver had testified that he had been to Reyhanlı twice, undergoing personal searches on both occasions but with officials failing to search his vehicle.
A cargo truck full of rocket heads, bazookas, missiles, bombs and guns was seized in the southern province of Adana in the early days of November, with a total of 1,200 rocket warheads seized by Turkish forces. The truck, which had a Konya license plate, was confiscated after it arrived at a metal industrial site, where the police were waiting.
