Chief of General Staff hosts

Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Özel hosted Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan for an iftar dinner on Aug. 13.

It had previously been announced that Erdoğan would attend an iftar dinner organized by the SETA Foundation on Aug. 13. However, daily Radikal the Prime Minister would instead attend a “special” dinner. Erdoğan first went to his official residence.

Journalists blocked

After a short while, Erdoğan left his residence, but his security guards blocked journalists and prevented any possible pursuit. Ten minutes later, Erdoğan’s convoy returned to the residence without the prime minister. Erdoğan’s dinner invitation, which was kept secret, was clarified a while later, and it was revealed that the prime minister had gone to Gen. Özel’s residence, located on the premises of the Çankaya Presidential Residence.
