A butterfly park in the Mediterranean province of Antalya is suffering from a dwindling supply of butterflies and is having to turn disappointed visitors away, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Hakkı Çolak, the general manager of the Kelebek Park, said they had struggled to secure their supply due to heavy rain in the Philippines, which has damaged butterfly pupae.

Çolak also said they had struggled to obtain the butterflies due to customs delays in the aftermath of Turkey’s failed July 15 military coup attempt.

“We have no butterflies to show. We have had to ask visitors to come again later,” he added.

The butterfly park is located on a 2,000-square-meter plot and typically hosts from 15,000 to 20,000 butterflies of 15 different species, mostly imported from the Philippines.
