Borusan hosts Musicology Group at the Music House

Borusan Music House is hosting Şehvar Beşiroğlu and the Applied Musicology Group for a seminar and a concert today. The seminar, titled “Ottoman Music According to Written Resources,” starts at 4 p.m. and admission is limited to 15 people. For reservation, contact itumiam@gmail.com. The concert of the Applied Musicology Group starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are available at Biletix booths. The group will render works documented in music theory books from as far back as the 13th century, such as a masterpiece by Safiyüddin Urmevi, the Book of Modes, which is one of the prime resources in the history of Turkish music to have survived to our day.
