Bodrum’s ‘Golden gang’ loses father

Şenol Özbakan, a former ship skipper who lived in a minibus with 12 abandoned golden retriever and Rottweiler dogs that he adopted in the western province of Muğla’s Bodrum district, has died of multiple organ failure at the age of 56.Özbakan, who recently had a lung problem and was at risk of developing cancer, had been receiving treatment at Bodrum State Hospital.
In the meantime, his 12 dogs were the guests of Dr. Aylin Yıldız Schwarz in Bodrum.
A funeral for Özbakan will be held in İzmir.
