The first International Çanakkale Children’s Biennial kicked off on Nov. 17 in the northwestern province of Çanakkale, welcoming children between the ages of five and 15 from around the world.The event aims to familiarize children and teachers with a variety of different art disciplines, materials, techniques and forms of expression, and to stimulate them to produce their own original works. There will be workshops, seminars, discussions and meetings with artists, and works produced during these activities will be exhibited during the event, which will continue until Dec. 16.
Curated by Mustafa Horasan, the event is taking place with the coordination of the Mavitay Children’s Home for Culture and the Çanakkale Municipality, and with cooperation of various organizations and individuals.
