Beşiktaş fans to stage sign-language demo against racism for hearing impaired Fans of Beşiktaş, the self-proclaimed holders of the world record for the “world’s loudest stadium,” are set to stage a unique silent “sign-language” demonstration in an act of solidarity with the hearing impaired.

During the first minute of the Champions League group game against Benfica on Nov. 23, Beşiktaş fans will keep quiet and collectively say “No to Racism” and “Black Eagles” in sign language.

The club announced the bid on its official website, promoting the campaign with a silent video in which a number of players appeared giving the message in sign language.

Beşiktaş fans, fired by the passionate “Çarşı” fan group, are said to have reached the level of 137.6 decibels during a Champions League match against Liverpool in 2007 at the historic İnönü Stadium.
