Berlin air shows starts with Turkey’s partnership

The Berlin air show, one of the world’s leading aerospace trade fairs, which showcases the latest in civilian and defense aviation technology, has opened its doors to visitors in the German capital with the official partnership of Turkey.

The International Aerospace Exhibition 2014, which is expected to host more than 250,000 visitors, was inaugurated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Turkish Transportation Minister Lütfi Elvan with a fanfare ceremony.

About 1,200 exhibitors from 40 countries are scheduled to present advanced technology and high-tech products from every sector of the aerospace industry at the biennial ILA Berlin Air Show, which runs from May 20 to 25.

The exhibition brings together the top representatives in the sector with ultra-modern aircraft, innovative, high-tech products and cutting-edge technology at a wide-ranging program of events.
The main display sections planned for 2014 include commercial air transport, space, military aviation, helicopters and both civil and military unmanned aircraft systems, known as UAVs.

Turkey will make its strongest appearance to date at this year’s show.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), missile maker Roketsan, aerospace company Havelsan, Turkey’s science watchdog TÜBİTAK, flagship carrier Turkish Airlines (THY), FIGES Engineering and Defense and Aviation Cluster (OSSA) and the Aerospace Clustering Association will all present their industrial capabilities and research and development work in the industry.
