BBVA wants more stake in Garanti

Arrongoiz Crespo, a board member of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Bancomer, a Mexican financial institution and the largest stake-holder in Spanish bank BBVA, has said the lender plans to increase its share in Turkey’s Garanti Bank by 2016.Bancomer board members have visited Turkey to seek investment opportunities, Crespo said, adding that possible investment sectors included aviation and electronics.
Direct flights will increase the trade and business volume between Turkey and Mexico, he said yesterday, during a meeting with Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan.
