Baksı Museum nominated for EMYA

The Baksı Museum in the eastern Black Sea province of Bayburt has reached the finals in the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA).The winning museum will be announced on Dec. 3, 2013 and presented by the European Council Parliaments Assembly. The other finalists are the Zanis Lipke Memorial in Latvia and the Bildmuseet in Sweden.Founded by Professor Hüsamettin Koçan, the Baksı Museum is a giant complex that hosts artists and provides opportunities for showing works produced by the local public. EMYA was founded in 1977 under the auspices of the Council of Europe.
