Bahrain’s top diplomat to visit Turkey amid Gulf row

Bahrain’s foreign minister will pay a visit to Turkey on June 10 as tension between Qatar and prominent Gulf and Arab countries are continuing to escalate.Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and will be received by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the foreign ministry said in a written statement on June 9.
“The latest developments in the region will be discussed during the meetings with the visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain,” it added.
The visit comes amid increasing tension in the region after sanctions imposed on Qatar by Saudi-led Arab countries.
