Shifting traditional Turkish music to a whole new level, Baba Zula will be playing in Babylon. Their interpretation of familiar folk music is unique, combining acoustic and electronic sound harmonically. Their performances are full of surprises and can be almost ritualistic at times. Baba Zula’s long awaited album “Gecekondu” reflects their increasingly psychedelic side. They worked on this album with such names as Titi Robin, Bugge Wesseltoft, Serra Yılmaz and Dr. Das. Baba Zula will perform at Womex’s showcase this year. They are definitely the Turkish favorite for alternative folk music fans.
