Atletico Madrid defeats Turkey's Beşiktaş 3-1

Turkey's sole contester in European leagues, Beşiktaş, lost yesterday's game to Atletico Madrid 3-1 in a match played in Spain. 

Beşiktaş hoped to hold on harder to Eruopa League after falling far from the top in the domestic league.

Adrian Lopez scored all three goals of Atletico Madrid on minutes 24, 27 and 37. Turkish player Arda Turan of the Spanish squad missed the game due to an injury. 

Simao scored Beşiktaş' only goal on minute 37.

The second leg of the game between Atletico Madrid and Beşiktaş will be played on Thursday, March 15, in Istanbul.
