Ataşehir to welcome Halkbank
ISTANBUL- Hürriyet Daily News
State-run Halkbank is getting ready to move its Istanbul operations to Istanbul’s new financial center, in the Ataşehir neighborhood on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Halkbank will be one of the first occupants in the new financial center.“Our heaquarters is in Ankara, but two-thirds of our other buildings are in Istanbul in five different locations. We have 1,600 employees in Istanbul and want to consolidate everyone in one location,” Halkbank’s General Manager Süleyman Aslan told daily Sabah.
“The project is currently at the design stage. When looking at the draft plans, there could be three to four independent buildings,” added Aslan. Halkbank might also sell its real estate in Mecidiyeköy and Salıpazarı on the European side of Istanbul. The bank’s real estate arm will decide what to do with any remaining real estate, according to Aslan.
