Arrest warrants issued for 70 FETÖ suspects in Konya

A prosecutor in the Central Anatolian province of Konya issued arrest warrants for 70 people over suspected links to the movement of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen on March 29.
Arrest warrants were issued in 38 provinces for 70 on-duty soldiers and “imams,” referring to suspected senior figures within what the authorities call the Fetullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) responsible for coordinating cells within the armed forces, according to a statement by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The Gülen movement is widely believed to have orchestrated the July 2016 coup attempt which left 250 people dead and nearly 2,200 injured.
