Anti-Gülen operation spreads to Turkey’s largest military hospital

Nearly 100 detention warrants have been issued for Gülhane Military Hospital (GATA) personnel by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office over the July 15 failed coup attempt, believed by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government to have masterminded by the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ).Ankara anti-terror police launched an operation to apprehend the ones sought with a detention warrant from Turkey’s largest military hospital, including medical officers, retirees, those suspended from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and suspects outside Ankara.
A total of 50 people were detained upon the issue of the warrants.
GATA, military hospitals and TSK health service units were transferred to the Health Ministry as a part of a state emergency decree law announced after the failed takeover.
