For the project, a group of Turkish students have produced two films of their own. They have been uploaded to YouTube and will be used as educational tools.
Between March 21 and April 6, the travelling exhibition “Anne Frank – A History for Today,” which is part of the “Anne Frank Project Turkey 2012,” will serve as a starting point for a series of activities to be held at Istanbul universities. The opening of the traveling exhibition will be held at Kadir Has University, followed by a ceremony and press conference. The Turkish Anne Frank exhibition is enhanced by a collection of educational materials, which will be translated into Turkish and used to train docents for the exhibition, as well as for teacher education seminars and in pre-service training for teachers. Turkish secondary school and university students who have been trained will serve as exhibition docents for visitors.
During the project, a series of pre-service teacher training seminars will take place as well. As part of the project, additional exhibition panels will be created by local experts to put the exhibition in a local context.
The Free2choose Europe program also accompanies the Anne Frank exhibition. The Free2choose film clips, created by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, have been subtitled in Turkish.
