An Istanbul court today decided to arrest eight people, who had been detained during the Gezi Park protests in Taksim on July 6, daily Hürriyet has reported.An Istanbul prosecutor had earlier asked for the arrest of eight protesters for violating “the law on demonstrations and rallies” and for “resisting police,” while also requesting the release of 51 other detainees.
A total of 59 people who were detained during the Gezi Park protests in Taksim were questioned by the prosecutor’s for around seven hours today at Istanbul’s Çağlayan courthouse.
