Istanbul Modern will open its doors on the longest day of the year to take part in an international initiative backed by influential Japanese artist Yoko Ono: The Yoko Ono Morning Peace 2015.Art workshops for different age groups, a yoga session, a tea workshop, recitals and concerts will take place at Istanbul Modern on June 21.
The museum’s temporary exhibitions will also be open free of charge to visitors from 05.30 a.m. The program will continue until midday.
The event celebrates the New York-based Museum of Modern Arts’ (MoMA) ongoing exhibition “Yoko Ono: One Woman Show, 1960-1971” and the 50th anniversary of Ono’s New York performance of “Morning Piece” (1964).
The Yoko Ono Morning Peace 2015 will continue for 24 hours as the sun rises in different time zones across the world.
