World leaders send messages on Turkey’s Republic Day

Turkey has received international celebration messages from world leaders to mark the 95th anniversary of the foundation of modern Turkey.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayip Erdoğan on the occasion of the anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
In the telegram, published on Kremlin’s official website on Oct. 29, Putin said the foundations of the “friendly, good-neighborly relations” between Russia and Turkey were established on the very first day of the existence of the Turkish Republic.
Putin said he expects further progress in bilateral relations.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also sent a message for the Republic Day to Erdoğan.
“On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and myself, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and through you to all the people of your country on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey,” Aliyev said in his message on Oct. 28.
“On this remarkable day, I wish you the best of health, happiness, success in your endeavors, and the brotherly people of Turkey everlasting peace and prosperity,” Aliyev added.
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Oct. 28 congratulated the Turkish president on the 95th anniversary of the republic.
In two separate cables to Erdoğan, the Saudi monarch and the crown prince wished good health and happiness to Erdoğan, his government, and the Turkish people, as well as steady progress and prosperity, according to the official SPA news agency.
Pakistan’s president and prime minister on Oct. 28 congratulated the people and the government of Turkey on the 95th Republic Day.
“On behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan, and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to felicitate the people and the government of Turkey on the auspicious occasion of Turkey’s ninety-fifth Republic Day,” Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a message.
President Arif Alvi said the day symbolizes Turkey’s “glorious” struggle, adding: “For Muslims of the subcontinent struggling for an independent homeland, the valiant Turkish stance was both energizing and inspiring.”
