Women’s era begins in Egyptian diplomacy

For the first time in Egypt’s history, half of this year’s graduates from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s Institute for Diplomatic Studies were women, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr said, daily Radikal reported today.

“Women are coming to [work in the] ministries, [they] will have more voice in Egyptian diplomacy soon, Amr said during the institute’s graduation ceremony.

The minister has advised the graduating diplomats to continuously work to improve themselves and protect the benefits of the country.

A total of 41 diplomats graduated from the institute, Radikal said.
