Vonn wrapped up her season in some style as she won the downhill in 1min 42.49sec to edge out Maria Riesch of Germany and Austria's Renate Goetschl.

"My life could not be any better," said Vonn. "I have a fantastic husband, two cristal globes, two downhill globes. I'm missing nothing."

The trophies will be added to a collection that also includes two World Championship golds (downill and Super-G) from February, and two silvers from 2007.

German startlet Riesch trailed in 0.40sec adrift with Goetschl 1.26sec off the pace as Vonn, world champion for good measure in the downhill and the super-G, moved an insuperable 389 points clear in the standings of Riesch with only three events remaining. Minnesota-born Vonn, 24, had already pocketed the downhill season honours at Bansko, Bulgaria, on February 28.

Austrian Andrea Fischbacher, fifth in the downhill, finished second in the downhill standings, with Riesch and Swiss skier Dominique Gisin tied in third on 292 points, Italian Nadia Fanchini in fifth on 276.
