US, Azerbaijani and Turkish business delegations gather to explore opportunities

ANKARA
Eleven Turkey-based U.S. companies and business associations from Azerbaijan gathered to facilitate U.S.-Turkish business partnerships in the region, said a written statement from the U.S. Embassy in Ankara Nov. 25.

The U.S. Executive Business Development Mission to Azerbaijan, organized by AMCHAM Turkey/American Business Forum in Turkey and the Turkish American Business Association, certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce would explore trade and investment opportunities with Azerbaijan, said the embassy.

The two day program, which kicked off Nov. 25, would feature briefings with Azpromo, the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan, and the U.S. and Turkish Embassies in Baku. The delegations will hold over forty private meetings with key Azeri government officials and business executives, the statement said.

“U.S. and Turkish companies have long been partners in third markets, bringing technology, know-how and finance to projects throughout the region,” U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Francis J. Ricciardone was quoted as saying. “This public-private sector initiative will support U.S. and Turkish firms’ business development efforts in Azerbaijan, a growing market for U.S. goods and services,” he said.
