Deputies in the Turkish Parliament will not able to accept presents worth more than 12,000 Turkish Liras as a result of a new regulation prepared by Parliament's Ethics Committee, daily Hürriyet reported today.

The upper limit is reportedly 133 times more than it is in Europe, while the limit for presents to deputies in the United States is $50 (90 liras).

The new regulation has also reorganized working conditions, preventing deputies from working anywhere else in either the public or private sectors as long as they are a member of Parliament.

The law draft is slated to be completed and delivered to Parliament later this month.
