Two soldiers killed amid floods in Şanlıurfa in Turkey’s southeast

ŞANLIURFA

Two soldiers were saved and two were killed after an armored military personnel vehicle got caught in a flooded river in the Akçakale district of the southeastern Turkish province of Şanlıurfa on Feb. 18, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 19.

The incident took place amid strong winds in the province, which is on the border with Syria, the report said.

In earlier reports the two soldiers were reported as missing and a search operation was ongoing.
