Turks spend five hours on phone every month

Turks spend 300 minutes a month on the telephone, a rise of 39 minutes over the figure last year, the chairperson of the Board of Information Technologies and Communication (BTK) said yesterday.

“On average, a Turk pays 10 euros, a European pays 15.50 euros and nationals of many other countries pay around 38-40 euros per month for telephone calls,” Tayfun Acarer said.

Attractive promotions by phone companies have also resulted in lower monthly bills, he said.
