Turks make the most phone calls to Germany

Turkish citizens placed 9 million calls to Germany in the first six months of 2012.
Turkish citizens called Germany the most in the first six months of 2012, according to statistics recently released by Türk Telekom.The number of calls abroad increased every month from January to June, according to the figures, with calls from Turkey to countries overseas increasing 17 percent at the end of June when compared to January.

Turks placed 9 million calls to Germany in the first half of the year, followed by 1.9 million calls to France, 1.8 million calls to Bulgaria, 1.5 million calls to the United Kingdom, 1.3 million calls to the United States, 1 million to Russia, 845,000 to Iran and 801,000 to Azerbaijan.
Of the incoming calls from abroad, Istanbul tops the list, followed by Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Bursa, Kocaeli, Muğla, Kayseri and Konya.
Furthermore, citizens who reside on Istanbul’s European side placed twice as many calls abroad than citizens living on the city’s Anatolian side.
The statistics also revealed that Turkish citizens spoke the longest with Uzbekistan, Canada, the U.S.,
Kyrgyzstan, Japan, South Africa, Montenegro, Hungary, Singapore and the U.K.
