Turks dealt a difficult Euro group

Turkey has been dealt a difficult group for Eurobasket 2013, ensuring that it must beat out at least one of former tournament winners Russia, Greece or Italy to make the second round of next year’s competition in Slovenia.Finland and Sweden will join them in Group D, with the top three in each group advancing to the next round.
Defending champion Spain will meet Slovenia, Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Georgia in Group C.
Group A consists of Ukraine, Great Britain, France, Germany, Israel and Belgium. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Latvia will be in Group B.
The tournament, which is being expanded to 24 teams for the first time, will be held between Sept. 4 and 22 next year.
