Turkish warplanes hit PKK targets in northern Iraq

The Turkish military launched the airstrikes on the targets based on intelligence between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.An ammunition depot and shelters in the Kandil Mountains were hit, killing a number of militants inside, said the source, who spoke anonymously due to restrictions on talking to media.
The fighter jets returned to their bases safely, the source added.
Meanwhile, an explosive-laden truck left by two PKK militants was found in the Erciş district of the eastern province of Van on Sept. 27, a security source said.
The explosives were later disposed safely in a rural area near the district.
The two militants were also later caught, source added.
