Turkish Prime Ministry sets up coordination center for terror acts

The Turkish Prime Ministry has set up a coordination center for operations against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) following the deadly jihadist attack in the border town of Suruç on July 20.

The airstrikes that hit ISIL locations in Syria were coordinated between the centers in the Prime Ministry and the Turkish General Staff operations division, Anadolu Agency quoted anonymous Prime Ministry sources as saying on July 24.  

The Prime Ministry coordination center is headed by Undersecretary Kemal Madenoğlu and has the involvement of officials from the police, gendarmerie, Justice Ministry, Interior Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, the intelligence service and the General Staff. 

The coordination center will be used to share information on the identities of the Suruç bombing victims, burial procedures, finding the perpetrators and following-up on other recent terror acts including the killing of two police officers in Ceylanpınar, the killing of one police officer in Diyarbakır and the killing of one soldier in an ISIL attack in Kilis.
