Turkish prime minister sues editor-in-chief of newspaper

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has filed a lawsuit against the editor-in-chief of daily Taraf newspaper and is seeking 30,000 Turkish Liras in compensation, broadcaster NTV reported on its website. 
 
Erdoğan's lawyers filed a lawsuit against Altan today because of his editorial piece published in yesterday's issue of Taraf, titled "Alaturkalık" (Being a la Turca), claiming the piece contained "very serious insults attacking Erdoğan."
 
Taraf, where Altan is editor-in-chief, is a partner of the Internet whistle-blowing organization WikiLeaks, and has been publishing Stratfor documents related to Turkey. One such document was published in Taraf recently, claiming some of Erdoğan's advisers provided intelligence to Stratfor.
