Turkish president, German chancellor speak on phone

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke late on Aug. 20 to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to Turkey's Presidential Communications Directorate.       

Erdoğan and Merkel discussed bilateral relations and regional issues, the directorate said in a statement.
