Turkish PM’s family sends three trucks of food aid to Syria’s Idlib

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım’s family has sent three trucks of food aid to the opposition-held city of Idlib in Syria, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The aid was sent by Yıldırım’s children, Erkam, Büşra and Bülent Yıldırım and his brother İlhami Yıldırım, who is also the chair of the Turkish Red Crescent, to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Syria, according to officials from the Prime Ministry. The packages of food aid were prepared in Istanbul and were later donated to the Turkish Red Crescent.  

The trucks carrying mostly milk and food arrived in Idlib and were distributed to meet the needs of the evacuees of Aleppo and mostly children in orphanages. The aid also consisted of cartons of fruit and chocolate milk. The trucks also delivered food aid to locals who were living nearby districts of the center of Idlib. 

The distribution was also reportedly continuing in other parts of the province. The Yıldırım family are expected to continue carrying out such campaigns and aid activities.
