Turkish PM Erdoğan's aim is to divide the country: Nationalist leader

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli accused Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of trying to divide the country at another massive meeting organized in the southern town of Adana May 25. "[Erdoğan] struggles to solve the problems of the PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party], to satisfy the murderer in İmralı. He is negotiating to divide Turkey," Bahçeli told a huge crowd of supporters.

"The prime minister is a liar; he is delusional," he said, adding that Turkey's security was in danger. "Being a Turk has become a crime, being a nationalist objectionable. Being separatist, on the contrary, is respected and becoming a popular occupation." Bahçeli renewed its attack against against the 63-member wise persons' commission, which is traveling across Turkey to raise support for the ongoing peace process on the Kurdish issue, calling them "the 63 unwise persons."

Bahçeli also threatened the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) with review of the deals made during the its government, vowing to "decipher" the corruption. The government had recently launched an investigation into the coalition in which the MHP participated, and which coincided with Turkey's biggest financial crisis. "We will look into their time. There were over 111 quadrillion in losses of banks, 246 quadrillion with interest. He denies it, even with the facts. Three and a half years is the time of their rule, and there is another extra 13.5 quadrillion in forced savings," Erdoğan had said.
