Turkish opposition to visit New Zealand
ISTANBUL – Anadolu Agency
Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will visit New Zealand, its vice chairman Ünal Çeviköz said on March 18.
Çeviköz said three CHP deputies will leave on March 18 night for Christchurch where two terror attacks happened.
“We will be briefed by New Zealand officials and our staff from the embassy upon arrival. Then we are going to visit two mosques. If we have the chance, we will visit our citizens injured in the attack,” said Çeviköz.
At least 50 people were killed when a terrorist opened fire on worshippers during Friday prayers last week at the Al Noor and Linwood mosques in Christchurch.
About as many were injured, with several still in critical condition.
