The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on Jan. 14 retaliated to attacks carried out by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Kurdistan workers’ Party (PKK) in Syria, which targeted the residential area in Azaz, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

A large number of rockets were fired by militia from the Afrin district bordering Turkey onto the civilian settlements in the area controlled by the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army forces, the agency reported, according to their correspondents in the region.

The attacks caused material damage to the area, but no casualties were reported.

The TSK stationed in the Euphrates Shield Operation area in Syria and in the de-escalation zones in Idlib immediately retaliated with artillery fire targeting the terrorist strongholds in Afrin, the agency’s report read.
