Turkish man dies after tree he cut falls on him in Black Sea province

A 58-year-old man died after a poplar tree he was cutting fell down on him in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak on Nov. 19.The accident occurred as Ahmet Çapkın was trying to cut a poplar tree with a chainsaw in his uncle’s garden in the village of Kışla in the Çaycuma district. The tree then fell down on him and he died at the scene.
A formal investigation has been launched into the incident.
A similar accident took place in the Aegean province of Kütahya on Nov. 17, when a three-year-old boy was killed after a poplar tree fell down on him.
Bilal Gerenkaya died when a poplar tree felled by his father and his father’s friend collapsed on him in the village of Yaykın in Kütahya. The toddler died in the ambulance on the way to hospital.
