Turkish man becomes Guinness World Record candidate for 5 meter-long apple peel
NİĞDE
A farmer from the Central Anatolian province of Niğde became a candidate for the Guinness Book of World Records for peeling five meters of skin from an apple.
Zeki Şener, who is an apple producer, held a public demonstration on Nov. 12 in which he carved an unbroken apple peel over the course of six minutes.
“We have made a verbal application to enter the Guinness Book of World Records and it has been accepted. I know I have no other rival either in Turkey or in the world,” Şener said, adding that he wants to “put Niğde’s apple on the map.”
He also said he is currently looking for financial sponsors in order to fund his application to Guinness.
