Turkish intelligence admits blacklisting

Turkey’s intelligence agency, National Intelligence Oragnization (MIT), has reportedly accepted blacklisting the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) deputies and businessmen linked with those to hinder them from running for public tenders, in a letter it officially penned to the Ankara Public Prosecutor.“Turkish state’s security and interior/foreign benefits” was the reason, the MİT said according to a report published by the daily Taraf yesterday.
The MİT asked for a broadcast ban for the investigation after the daily Taraf reported the story first in June, but the daily Taraf obtained the document sent to the prosecutor, report said.
