Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu will meet with Turkish ambassadors serving in Middle Eastern countries to confer over ongoing regional developments, with particular emphasis on the coup in Egypt and the civil war in Syria.

More than 30 ambassadors have been invited to the meeting, which will be chaired by Davutoğlu. A general outlook at the developments in the region will be discussed in the meeting where Turkey’s policies will also be reviewed. The meeting will be held tomorrow at the Foreign Ministry.

The meeting follows last week’s coup d’état in Egypt against which Turkey strongly reacted and called the army to re-install ousted President Mohamed Morsi with full power. Equally important, Turkish diplomats will also discuss the course of the military conflict in neighboring Syria and the prospects for organizing a conference in Geneva to talk about a political transition in the war-torn country.
