Turkey’s modem producer AirTies has come up with a single platform to combine both internet and television broadcasting, and is keen on marketing the technology to European operators, according to AirTies Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bülent Çelebi.

“Television is no longer a one way transmitter and has become an interactive part of the household internet web,” Çelebi said, explaining that Europe’s largest operators were interested in the technology and wanted to work with AirTies.

“In five years we will become a company with a $500 million turnover,” he added.

Çelebi said AirTies was currently negotiating with Europe’s largest operators in Germany, France and England, but that he could not disclose the details of these negotiations. The details will become clearer very soon he said, stressing that the deal would help AirTies grow by 50 percent and boost its 2012 turnover to $60 million.

“The real boom, however, will take place in 2013 once all of our projects are in the pipeline,” he said.
